Welcome
Cameron is a composer based in North-Wales and his music draws significantly from the natural landscapes, aspects of momentum, as well as conveying his own Welsh heritage and folklore through music. This interest is often combined with his musical fascination with shimmering textures, rich and colourful harmonies, and subtle timbral detailing, in order to convey narratives in his music. His music has been performed and broadcast across the country, featuring as a composer in residence at JAM on the Marsh Festival, as well as receiving regular broadcasts on BBC Radio Three and Radio Cymru. Cameron has been able to explore his musical interests through commissions from prominent organisations, where the most recent include: the Vaughan Williams Foundation, Cheltenham Music Festival, and NEW Sinfonia.
These commissions have led to him collaborating with some of the leading musical ensembles, where the most notable include the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Psappha Ensemble, Riot Ensemble, and the Sacconi Quartet, to name but a few. Through collaborating with these prestigious ensembles, Cameron’s music has flourished and has gone on to be awarded and commended by several prestigious organisations, the most recent include: the Royal Music Associations Tippett Medal, the Welsh Music Guild and being runner up in the University of Manchesters’ Postgraduate Researcher of the Year. Looking ahead, Cameron is featured composer at the Three Choirs Festival in 2024, as well as completing his PhD in composition at the University fo Manchester.
